The grooving process is performed on many
different cold formed products including screws, bolts, studs
and pipe products. Circular grooving is machined on the outside
diameter for the purpose of tag identification, "O"
ring sealing and snap ring applications. Contracts range from
50 to 300,000 pieces. Pointing is performed on standard fasteners.
Angle, dog, radial and cone are some of the types of points machined
to a customer's specification. Shaving is used to remove an extruded
diameter that cannot be formed in the cold heading process. Shoulder,
multiple diameters, and special thread roll diameters are run
on a daily basis.
